The program states that it is not accepting players under the age of 5 years and that USA Field Hockey (USAFH) updated age groups and cut-off dates defined by August 1 starting August 1, 2024; younger athletes may play in older age divisions, but an older age division player may not play in a younger age division. All players must be registered with both Lightning and USAFH to join activities, and USAFH membership is required to play.
Required equipment includes shin guards, a mouth guard, a field hockey stick, a water bottle, and cleats or turf shoes, and the program notes that a pinnie is provided by Lightning Club.
